It’s been a tremendous start to the decade for Tollywood with 2 back to back blockbusters this Sankranti. Now, the Rowdy star Vijay Deverakonda is testing his luck with ANOTHER love story which he claims to be his last. He is pairing up with 4 heroines and doing 3 different roles in this Kranti Madhav’s love entertainer. Although we know Vijay can pull off any love story with ease, we have to see how Kranti Madhav handled 3 different versions of this lover boy.

World Famous Lover is the love story of Yamini(Raashi Khanna) and Gautam (Vijay) who fall in love during college. Gautam quits his job few days into their relationship with an aspiration to be a writer. Yamini backs him and supports his living. An year into their relationship, he doesn’t show any intent of writing and Yamini is fed up with it and breaks up with him. Will Gautam come up with a notable writing? If so, what is it about forms the story of WFL.
Vijay Devarakonda as Gautam is regular just like we saw in Arjun Reddy but does amazing job in the climax. As Srinu, he’s shown real maturity as an actor and his telangana diction is quite impressive. Aishwarya Rajesh as Suvarna does an outstanding job in complimenting Seenayya role. Raashi khanna as Yamini is cute in the happy sequences and passable in emotional scenes. Catherine as Smitha in Yellandu sequence is apt for the role and does well. Izabella in the Paris sequence is beautiful and performs well. Other than Vijay and the lead actresses, there’s no notable characters in the movie.
The movie starts at a snail’s pace with the story of Yamini and Gautam. It has nothing new to offer other than what’s present in the trailer. The movie picks up when the story shifts to Yellandu. The love story of Srinu and Suvarna is a treat to watch. The telangana diction and the humor works well. Vijay’s dialogue delivery is really impressive. The emotions work well and the music is good.
While the first half takes us to Yellandu, the second half takes the audience to Paris. The love story between Gautam and Iza is a little slow to my liking but both the actors do well in their respective roles. The pace never picks up throughtout. The length is a little dragged and the last fight can be chopped. The climax is realistic and Vijay has done a tremendous job to bring that feel in the press meet.
Overall, the Yellandu sequences are the real heart of this movie. Finally Vijay gets a good role with different variations albeit in a love story. The movie’s pace fluctuates a little too much which might work against it’s favor. The music and BGM are good. The cinematography in Yellandu and Paris sequences is top notch. The narration could have been a little better. On a whole, WFL makes for a one time watch.
