Consistently inconsistent and slow.

Ever since the teaser came out for this movie, it has created a lot of positive buzz. Sushanth hasn't scored a hit after Current in 2009 and is direly in need of a hit to prove himself. He teams up with the talented debutant Rahul Ravindran for this light hearted love story Chi La Sow. Let's dive in to see if the movie lives up to it's publicity.
Arjun is a young IT professional whose parents pressurize him to pursue marriage whereas he has different goals before which he doesn’t want to get married. However, Arjun’s parents sets up an alliance with Anjali alone in their house against Arjun's will. Anjali narrates her sorry-tale to Arjun and he immediately connects with her. What follows is a series of events which makes them together and apart. What are those sequences and how will they end up forms the rest of the story.
Sushanth as Arjun is apt to the character. Since he is not a natural actor, there were few inconsistencies here and there in his action but he did okay. He was hardly impressive in his dance moves as well. Debutant Suhani Sharma isn't the best pick for the character of Anjali. It might be tough for her to get another role in Tollywood after this movie. Vennela Kishore as Sujith was just about okay. The rest of the characters are hardly seen in the movie.
The movie starts slowly with all the scenes you see in the trailer and the monotonous dialogue of "Arjun , pelli cheskoraa" for the first few minutes and gets interesting when the hero and heroine meet. The way the director builds up the connection between the lead pair is good. Every time you think the movie is picking up pace, there comes a comedy scene or a song which is unnecessary and kills the mood.
After the first half builds good rapport between Arjun and Anjali, the second half kills the entire mood of the movie. Especially the song Solo Solo's timing is really bad. The lamest part of the second half is the sequence where an intruder comes into Anjali's house and the scenes following it. I almost walked out of the movie after that scene. Even though it is a pure love story, the director has to give something to engage the audience other than the petty fights between hero and heroine throughout the movie.
The background score is the main saving grace to the film. The movie is carried entirely over good background score. It kind of keeps you sane throughout the movie. The inconsistency of the characters is too much, especially the character of Anjali. The director tried to show the frustration of a middle class girl with family problems in her but that went a little overboard and so did the comedy of Vennela Kishore at the end requesting orange juice from a neighbor at 3.45 AM.
Even among so many silly scenes, there are a few love bites that impress. If you want to see the movie just for those scenes with zero expectations, this movie is for you. I don't think this movie can withstand the power of Goodachari at the box office given how good the latter is.
