The advantage of Tharun Bhascker as a director is the nativity he brings to the dialogues. The scenes feel like it is between your own friends. BUT, is that enough to save a movie?

Exactly 2 years after releasing his debut tollywood film "Pelli Choopulu" which turned out to be a super cool film, the director Tharun Bhaskcer is releasing his latest movie "Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi". There is a sense of freshness in these short film directors who come to tollywood and Tarun is no different. The trailer of this movie is very interesting and has already created a buzz. Let's see if how the movie turns up.
Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi is the story of a gang of 4 friends Vivek, Karthik, Kaushik and Upendra who unexpectedly end up in Goa. The story goes through a flashback on how they end up there. The flashback tells how they become short film enthusiasts and their story in college. They also sign up for a short film contest at Goa in need of money for which Shirley helps them. How did they end up in Goa and were they able to finish their short film forms the story.
Abhinav Gomatham as Kaushik is definitely the show stealer of the movie. Vishwaksen Naidu as Vivek, who is the lover boy looks good and does well. Sushanth Reddy as Karthik imitates Vijay Devarakonda through his dubbing and acts well. Venkatesh Kakumanu as Upendra has the least important role out of the gang in the movie but makes his presence felt. Anisha Ambrose as Shirley is smoking hot and gives a decent performance.
The story belongs to Abhinav as Kaushik 2.0 (continuation of Pelli Choopulu character). Every comedy scene in the movie had humor created by the director especially through the character Kaushik. He is the saving grace. His dialogue delivery is very funny and he will go a long way in TFI given he chooses good characters. The advantage of Tharun Bhascker as a director is the nativity he brings to the dialogues. The scenes feel like it is between your own friends. The telangana conversations are so pleasing. But, sadly that is not enough.
The movie gives you a good feel although there seems to be a time in the movie where you feel like why is this scene even there in the movie. The after break up sequences of Vivek and his girlfriend in the first half were dragged too long. The way the director portrayed anger issues of Vivek was extreme given the length of the love track. You can see the lack of clarity in many scenes throughout the movie.
The director just wrote the story in such a way that it should be a story of a group of friends. The friends love making short films. The friends should go to Goa. These are the things every engineering student dreams of in their college lives. He just wanted to make a story out of this but did not know how to narrate the story. Few comedy scenes were really funny but it sometimes looked like they wanted too much out of Kaushik to save the scene. People would wonder why there was a kid involved with the gang in all the Goa sequences of the story.
End of the day, it's a one time watch for all the students who dreamt of Goa and short films in their engineering life. But for the rest, it doesn't have anything special except for Kaushik's character.
