After a long time, Mahesh is giving his fans a mass masala entertainer and that too in a very short 6 month shoot time, thanks to the director Anil Ravipudi. Mahesh teams up with the bubbly Rashmika this time to make some fun on the silver screen. Let’s see if the mass drought for Mahesh fans is finally over.
Rating : 3.5/5
Tagline : End of Mass Drought to Mahesh fans
Sarileru Neekevvaru is the story of an army major Ajay Krishna(Mahesh). Ajay (Vasu dev) is the son of Vijayasanthi who is a professor in a medical college in the city of Kurnool. When Ajay gets injured in a army assignment, Ajay Krishna goes to Kurnool to help Vijayasanti for her daughter’s marriage along with his colleague Prasad (Rajendra Prasad). They go to Kurnool and realize that Vijayasanthi and her family are in grave problems because of the minister of Kurnool Nagendra (Prakash Raj). What happens between Nagendra and Vijayasanthi and how will Ajay save the family makes the plot of the movie.
Mahesh Babu as Ajay Krishna gives his fans a commercial feast in more than 3 years. His mass dance moves, comedy timing, action sequences and emotional elevations make this movie a memorable one. Anil Ravipudi hits the bulls eye in utilizing Mahesh’s stamina to it’s peak. Rashmika Mandanna looks cute and bubbly and does really well alongside Mahesh. Her moves in Mind block song are amazing as well. Vijayasanthi as a professor looks so dignified and is amazing fit for the character. She does justice to all the pre release hype. Rajendra Prasad is present for the most part of the movie alongside Mahesh and was his usual self. Prakash Raj has done many roles like these and does well in this one too. Rao Ramesh action in train scenes is hilarious. Subba raju and Vennela Kishore don’t have much to do.
The movie starts off on an serious note in the army setting in Kashmir with Ajay as the army major. The action sequences are well shot. It quickly shifts to Kurnool and in the process has a lengthy train sequence. Every bit of the train scenes create so much fun and laughter in the crowd. Mahesh’s timing is impeccable in those scenes and the heroine, her sisters and mother compliment each other very well. The first half ends with a high intensity adrenaline rushing fight at Kondareddy Burj.
The second half mostly concentrates on the action sequences and the confrontational scenes between Mahesh and Prakash raj work big time. The fight masters Ram Lakshman do an amazing job. The dance moves of Mahesh made me feel so terrible that I was not able to see the energy of masses in India theatres. The music of the movie is good and the BGM of DSP is outstanding.
The director Anil Ravipudi realizes the drought of Mass movies for Mahesh babu lately and uses him to his full potential. There is no harm in saying that Anil Ravipudi’s doors will be knocked by many production houses and star heroes from tomorrow after his back to back success streak of F2 and SLN. The dop Rathnavelu has shot Kashmir scenes really well and does an amazing job throughout the movie. The best thing Anil Ravipudi does in the movie is that he adds humor to all the high intensity action scenes and maintains the comedy tempo throughout the movie. The movie runs close to 3 hrs but you would never feel any drag in no part of the film. Mahesh starts the decade with his trademark BANG.
