After Jai Lava Kusa, Jr. NTR fans have been waiting for their hero’s movie since more than a year. On the other hand, Guruji Trivikram’s pen power has been questioned after the debacle of “Agnyaatavaasi”. This combination of NTR-Trivikram is a first time in our TFI and we only know what will follow when these two guys deliver to their peak. Let’s see how this magnum opus turns out.
In the villages of Kommadi and Nallagudi, a rift between Basi Reddy(Jagapati Babu) and Narapu reddy(Naga Babu) families creates a faction terror in the area. Veera Raghava Reddy(NTR) enters the place amidst all the violence and watches the faction when his dad gets killed right infront of his face. Raghava reddy takes the faction route and quickly realizes he’s wrong and moves to Hyderabad away from the violence and meets Aravinda(Pooja Hegde) who strengthens his feelings to be away from violence. Will Veera Raghava Reddy go back to his faction self or stays away from violence? How will he stop the faction in his area? forms the crust of Aravinda Sametha.
Ntr’s performance as Veera Raghava is nothing short of terrific. He delivers in the emotional scenes as he usually does. Pooja Hegde as Aravinda is probably the first time she received a performance oriented role over glamour oriented roles and she doesn’t disappoint. Her dubbing suited her really well. Suneel makes a comeback as a comedian and he actually looks odd with heavy cheeks and hefty body but the timing of his dialogues wasn't lost luckily. Jagapati Babu as Basi Reddy looks raw and gives his best yet again. Naveen Chandra as Bala Reddy is impressive as an antagonist. Senior actors like Naga Babu, Devayani make short appearances but make their presence felt. Naresh and Srinivas as lawyers were absolutely wasted.
The movie starts on a very serious note with an extraordinary fight and a lot of emotions in a faction backdrop. Then the story moves to Hyderabad where the hero meets the heroine and things move aimlessly with some uninteresting comedy scenes involving Naresh and Srinivas. Every now and then there is a fight which will appeal to the masses but all due credit must be given to the fight masters Ram-Laxman for their efforts.
Everytime the movie runs on a serious note, it augurs really well but once Trivikram introduces the needless comedy, all the impression is lost. The pace of the movie keeps wavering all the time in the first half. May be half way through the shoot Trivikram realized that the comedy angle is not working out so he takes the entire second half in a serious backdrop without letting anymore dips. Probably that is where the second half scores high over the first. The climax is undoubtedly the best part of the movie.
The most impressive part of the movie besides Tarak's acting is Thaman's music. All the songs were really good and the background score is at it's best. The cinematography is very good and the production values are rich. The dialogues were undoubtedly top class by Trivikram but the direction is very questionable the way the story was narrated. This movie is supposed to be an answer to all the questions faced by the pen power of Trivikram but ultimately hangs onto a cliff by the end of the movie. Do not go with high expectations to only get disappointed.
