Since Pataas, Kalyan Ram has been choosing scripts wiser than before and this time he comes up with Naa Nuvve, a romantic entertainer. The teaser, songs and trailer already gave the audience a fresh look. Also, we haven't seen Tamannah lately on screen. This movie is more important to Tamannah in a way than Kalyan Ram. Let's see how pair worked out on the big screen.
Naa Nuvve is the story of Meera (Tamannah), an RJ who finds the picture of Varun (Kalyan Ram) in a book called "Love Signs" which keeps coming back to her even after she loses it in every silly way possible. Every time she sees his picture something lucky happens to her and she decides that it is Destiny that Meera and Varun are meant to be together. She finally gets to meet Varun who doesn't believe in destiny but still falls in love with her for god knows why reasons and then something makes them apart. What makes Meera lose Varun? Will they re-unite again? How? forms the rest of the story.
Kalyan Ram as Varun was just okay. Strictly speaking, his role hasn't got much to perform. Tamannah as Meera was good except for few scenes where she overacted too much. Basically, she is the main character of the movie and gets more screentime than Kalyan Ram. Her own dubbing isn't too impressive though. There are so many wasted characters in the movie of Vennela Kishore, Praveen, Tanikella Bharani, Posani, Krishna Murali which have absolutely no importance in the movie.
Barring two good songs and a good background score, the movie is absolutely terrible. The director Jayendra who directed 180 movie in 2011 hasn't changed his way of direction even after 7 years. The way he drags every single scene is agonizingly painful. He is more used to directing ads and he is stuck in his zone.
There are so many uninteresting scenes throughout the movie. The thread of comedian Pravin and his girlfriend is horrible. The comedy scenes are so bland that you want to bang your head against the wall. From the first scene till the last scene, there are so many scenes in the movie which could have been taken better. The writer turned director has failed miserably in every department.
The movie's awfulness starts with the first song "Right Right Right" and fittingly has a painful song "Premika" at the end. The taking of that song sums up how disastrous the movie actually is. If only, I could get back my 125 minutes of the movie time and a long drive to the theater. Sometimes, you just got to let it go. Please don't watch this movie.
