As always, when Nani is involved in a movie, be it acting or producing, as a Middle Class abbayi you always have high expectations on the movie. After the trailer got out, it made a telugu cinema fan more curious.
Let's dive in to see if the curious people were left satisfied or even more curious on why Nani produced this film.
The movie started with Nani's voiceover "Viswadhabi Rama, Drugs joliki velladdu ra Mama" and the story takes off with Kajal trying to kill herself due to several incidents which torment her throughout her life. I got a flashback of Puri's "Nenu Na Rakshasi" seeing this but it has no relation to the movie whatsoever. Looking at Kajal(with or without makeup) makes our telugu fans around the globe whistle for her. The movie revolves around many other characters connected by a common point and what is that common point?
When there are so many big stars involved in the movie, it is a challenge in itself for a director. The players with impressive roles for me are Nithya Menen, Kajal Aggarwal and Priyadarshi. Audience are going to love the scenes between Priyadarshi and the fish(with Nani's voiceover) in the first half, and the tree(with Ravi teja's voiceover) joins them in the second half of the film. Who wouldn't like the banter of two of the most naturally gifted actors with their unique diction of the telugu language. One more thing I loved in the movie was the intro scene of Nithya Menen. Her character dictates how days in the current world are changing and why we shouldn't be "Awe'd" by those things. The script had too many characters to show in too little time that introducing each character took major part of the first half. The pre-interval sequence confirms that every character in the movie is present in the same restaurant.

Not so impressed with how the movie went until the Climax. Except for the climax and Nithya Menon entry, I did not feel the awe.
The biggest minus of the movie is when we could connect to only 3 characters, the other characters start irritating you when they come on the screen. I expected too much from Avasarala Srinivas who played a scientist in the movie and it let me down big time. Such is the role of Murali Sharma as a magician. Trust me, you don't want to look at Regina who played a drug addicted waitress. We expect too much from her looking at her makeover in the teaser/trailer. The director had too many ingredients to cook in a very tiny vessel which makes few ingredients unworthy and spill the few other down. The end product is not at all tasty. As you start connecting with a character in the movie, you dont see them on the screen for the next 10 minutes and the connection is long gone. That is the risk the director had to know when handling scripts like these and he failed. Failing at these attempts is better than the routine rotta movies.
The movie runtime is less than 2 hours. The background score is a plus to the movie. The editing could have been done a lot better. It just tests your patience in the second half on how are all the flashing characters connected and in the pre-climax episode I felt like even if this movie had an outstanding climax, I'm not going to like it anyways. But the climax did impress me. Alas, the pain subsided a little.
