Sai Dharam Tej has made a mark for himself when he made his entry to Tollywood but after his first 2 good films, his films hardly made any money. He now teams up with the evergreen director Karunakaran for a love story. Let’s see how this film turned out.
Tej I Love you is the story of a young college student Tej (Sai Dharam Tej) who falls in love with Nandini (Anupama) at his first sight. Tej has a huge family and he does anything for them. But he is thrown out of his family for a small mistake. On the other hand, Nandini comes to India from London to fulfill her mother’s last wishes and meets Tej and falls in love with him. But something happens to Nandini which makes them apart. How does Tej win his family and Nandini’s love is the main plot of the film.
Sai Dharam Tej has given a decent performance as Tej. He is a natural. He shows shades of Chiranjeevi and Pk in his dialogues yet again. Anupama steals the show with her action. She is one of those actors who doesn’t need any kind of skin show for her characters and is extremely talented. There are so many other characters in the movie but nothing worth mentioning.
Tej I love you is another template love story from the ace director Karunakaran. It has shades of Darling and Happy movies with a hero heroine banter where they tease each other, especially in the first half. But the fun created was nothing compared to the former.
This movie is a tested age old love story which we have seen so many times in Tollywood. There are so many logic lacking scenes in the film. And a few irritating expressions as well. The entire first half runs takes the story nowhere and the director gives a twist in the film at the end of first half only to keep the audience engaged.
The second half starts with interesting love scenes much like in Darling movie and that part was good. And then, it gets predictable as to what is going to happen. The only good thing about this movie is that even though there are many logic less scenes, the emotion present in all Karunakaran’s movies doesn’t miss. The songs are okay and the comedy is good in parts. Anupama is the soul of the movie. You can watch it once if you have nothing to do over the weekend.
